Koh Mak Island
Not only divers and snorkelers will feel very comfortable on Koh Mak, but also lovers of lonely beaches edged with palms. About 800 people live here. Beside the 10,000 palms you will find a temple, a clinic, a primary school, three fishing villages, a few little shops, 18 resorts and 2 diving bases. Koh Mak is an ideal family island.
Although the island is still quite unknown it provides a good infrastructure and connection to the main-land, the new airport of Trad is only 30 km away from the pier of Laem Ngob, flying time to Bangkok is only 50 minutes (www.bangkokair.com). Alternativly one of the coaches will bring you to Trat or Laem Ngop, taking about 5-6 hours on the newly built highway. There are ferry and speedboat connections to Koh Mak. The island has 24 hour electric power supply and also phone and Internet connection (Wireless LAN optional).
